2020 Board of Directors

The Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce's Board of Directors is the principal governing and policymaking body of the organization. The board's membership is as diverse as our business community, with business leaders serving from a variety of business sectors and with representation throughout the Charlevoix area.

Shay Arnold, CHAIR -  Boat Works of Charlevoix
Shay Arnold, an Owner at Boat Works of Charlevoix, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber Board of Directors in 2019 and became Vice Chair upon starting his service to the organization.
Born and raised in Charlevoix, Shay began working at Boatworks in the mid 90’s and partnered in purchasing the business in 1999.
Shay is new to serving in an organization board, but is actively involved in many school and sports groups, including the Charlevoix Robotics Team.

Michael Greyerbiehl, VICE CHAIR - Ace Hardware
Mike Greyerbiehl, an Owner at Ace Hardware of Charlevoix, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2019.
Originally from the Highland area of the state, his family relocated to Charlevoix and soon grew the Ace business, where Mike has worked since a young age. After successfully operating one of the downstate stores, Mike was able to come back to Charlevoix and become part owner of the Charlevoix store.
Mike also gives his time to the SHARP educational program, the Friends of McSauba group, and local events such as Shadowfest and Venetian Festival.

Robert Hoffman, TREASURER - Hoffman McLane CPA Firm
Robert Hoffmann, Partner at Hoffman McLane CPA Firm, PLC, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber Board of Directors in 2015. He served as Treasurer in 2015, 2016, and 2017, and has accepted the role again for 2019.
After beginning his career in Detroit and then St. Louis, Missouri, and starting his own firm in 1976, Bob relocated permanently to Charlevoix in 1987.
Bob has also served on the Boards for Charlevoix County Hospice, Keep Charlevoix Beautiful, and the City of Charlevoix Zoning Board of Appeals. He currently serves on the Boards for the Charlevoix County Community Foundation, Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital, and Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital Foundation.

Mark Snyder, PAST CHAIR  - Pat O'Brien & Associates Real Estate
Mark Snyder, the Managing Broker at Pat O’Brien & Associates Real Estate Charlevoix, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2017 and became Chair of the Board in 2019.
Having family ties to northern Michigan dating back to the early 1900’s, returning to those roots seemed like a natural decision after spending the early years of his career in various places from Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, Washington D.C., and Las Vegas. During that time, he worked as a manager/salesperson in boat sales, represented a client in the construction of a 17,000 square foot home, another client for a 65,000 square foot home, worked in the software industry and then upon moving back to Charlevoix established a career in real estate.
Mark has served on the Antrim, Charlevoix, Kalkaska Board of Realtors as President, the Northern Michigan Multi-List System Board as President. He is also active in the Charlevoix community, serving on the Rayder Gridiron Club board of directors, coaching Charlevoix High School Baseball, Charlevoix High School Football, and is active in the Rotary Club of Charlevoix.

Jon VanWagnen, DIRECTOR - Charlevoix Eye Center
Jon VanWagnen, Doctor and Owner at Charlevoix Eye Center, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2018.
Originally from Alpena, Jon began practicing in northern Michigan soon after graduating from Ferris State University’s Optometry program, first serving at the Kalkaska practice. Five years ago, he bought the Charlevoix practice.
Jon is the President of the Northwest Michigan Optometric Association and serves in the Rotary Club of Charlevoix.

Joanne Schroeder, DIRECTOR - Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital
Joanne L. Schroeder, MSN, MHA FACHE, is the President of Munson Healthcare Charlevoix Hospital since June, 2017, and joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2019.
She is native to Michigan, growing up on the east side of the state and working her way to Charlevoix via Grand Rapids and South Haven. Prior to joining Charlevoix Hospital she served as the President & CEO of Bronson South Haven Hospital in South Haven, Michigan, since 2006. Prior to her CEO role at South Haven Joanne served as the chief operating officer and vice president of patient care. Joanne also has served in roles as vice president of patient care services for Mary Free Bed Hospital and Rehabilitation Center.
Joanne is a fellow of the American College of Health Care Executives and a member of the Michigan Small & Rural Health Clinic Council, and a member of the Charlevoix Lions Club.

Jennifer Haf, DIRECTOR - BLOOM Floral Design
Jennifer Haf, Owner of BLOOM Floral Design, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2020.
Growing from her love of sharing her own cut garden flowers from her northern Michigan backyard, she founded BLOOM in 2008. Since then, she has trained at the prestigious Flower School New York and School of Floral Design, Paris, and studied under some of the most celebrated designers.
Jennifer finds joy in offering her services all over northern Michigan, to destination clients, and to the Charlevoix community.

Jacqueline Dipert, DIRECTOR - The Clothing Company
Jacqueline Dipert, Owner at The Clothing Company, joined the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors in 2020.
Jacqueline moved to Charlevoix from the Detroit area with her family to open The Clothing Company in 1975. After going on to receive a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and working for an actuarial firm, she returned to the family business as it expanded it's retail presence to add Harbor Wear stores. She then purchased The Clothing Company in 1994.
In addition to being involved with the Chamber of Commerce, Jacqueline has served on the Charlevoix State Bank Board of Directors since 2005.
