Railroad Depot Museum
The Charlevoix Historical Society owns and operates the Depot Museum, a State and National Historic Site located next to Depot Beach.   Mr. & Mrs. Robert Pew donated the railroad station to the society in June 1992 on the 100th anniversary of the arrival of the first passenger train in Charlevoix.  The Depot building is being restored with the help of fundraisers, grants and generous donations from community and summer resident.  The Charlevoix Area Garden Clubs have developed a Heritage Garden on the grounds based on historic garden principles and utilizing local cutting wherever possible.

Shopping

In Charlevoix, a person can shop just as long as their legs will carry them. A cooperative effort between local government and Mother Nature has provided Charlevoix with one of the most beautiful shopping districts around. Shoppers will find a variety of shops, stores and restaurants stretching from the Edgewater complex north of the bridge down through the valley, up over the south hill, out South Bridge Street and on to M-66. All of the shops are connected by new and well lit sidewalks.

In Charlevoix we don't believe in rolling up the sidewalks when the sun goes down. Many shops are open for extended hours and summer evenings are one of the nicest times for shopping in Charlevoix.

Community  Pool
The Charlevoix Friends of the Pool group achieved their goal in 1997 and opened an indoor swimming pool.

It was no easy task. The group, a private, nonprofit organization, raised funds through grants and private donors to build an indoor community pool and spa.

Located on U.S. 31 North near the Charlevoix Country Club, the pool is enjoyed by families, senior citizens andswimming.jpg physical therapy patients. Information about swim classes and open swim schedule is available by calling the Charlevoix Community Pool at 547-0982.

Americinn Swimming Pool
The swimming pool at the AmericInn, located on U.S. 31 North across from the Charlevoix Community Pool,  is also open to the public.  For more information call 237-0988.
