The Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce is located in Charlevoix, Michigan on the beautiful shores of Lake Michigan, Lake Charlevoix, and Round Lake. It has been named one of “America’s Prettiest Towns” by Forbes, the second “Best Yachting Towns in the World” by Yachting magazine, and the “Best Area for a Vacation Home” by Detroit Home Magazine.
The Chamber works hard to support commerce and provide leadership to enhance the quality of life. We do this by providing business support and networking, education, advocacy, relevant programming, and popular tourist based events.
CHAMBER ANNOUNCES NEW PRESIDENT
The Board of Directors for the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce Alison Boyer Hubbard as its new President and COO. The Chamber's selection resulted after a national search spearheaded by an appointed selection committee. Alison will begin her new role on April 7 and will report to the Executive Committee of the Chamber Board.
As the Chamber's President and COO, Alison will oversee the staff and work closely with the Board of Directors to implement the Program of Action identified in the Chamber Strategic Plan. Alison's main focus this year will be to continue the emphasis on the community branding program -Charlevoix First!- and implement the Chamber takeaways from the Charlevoix First! Economic Forum which will enhance and promote local businesses, working in conjunction with local government offices and the residents of Charlevoix.
"Chamber and community members will be very excited when they see Alison put her ideas and energy into action on their behalf. Alison has a proven track record in leading membership growth and retention in her past chamber role. Her enthusiasm, experience, and knowledge make her an excellent fit for leading the Charlevoix Area Chamber through its next phase of growth and development. The Chamber selection committee was blown away by her background and concepts. A huge positive for our membership and community is the fact that Alison is another "Boomerang" who went out to see the world and returned to grace our community with expanded skill sets and visions" said Steven Seely, Chamber Chairperson and CEO.
Alison returns to Charlevoix with extensive chamber and business experience having most recently served as the Annual Giving Manager for McLaren Northern Michigan Foundation. Among her varied experiences, she served as the Director of Membership for the Vail Valley Partnership in Vail, Colorado and worked in New York City, Boston and Bozeman, Montana in retail management for top retailers, Saks Fifth Avenue and Gap Inc.
