The holiday season is upon us and the time has come for the Charlevoix community to join the Christmas festivities. On Friday, November 23rd, from 3:00 to 6:00pm, bundle up and venture down to East Park to participate in the Community Christmas Tree Lighting Celebration.

There will be activities for the entire family to enjoy! Capture the moment when your kids visit Santa at the North Pole (Charlevoix Circle of Arts, 109 Clinton Street) and get their pictures taken with the Jolly Old Elf compliments of Picture This.

While at the North Pole, decorate an ornament with sparkles and glitter with items supplied by Charlevoix Children’s House and Northwestern Bank. Then travel to East Park and hang it on the Community Christmas Tree!

Beginning at 4pm, Christmas music will fill the air accompanied by the delicious smell of hot cocoa, compliments of Stafford’s Weathervane Restaurant, and freshly baked cookies from Subway.

New this year will be the holiday parade down Bridge Street beginning at 5:30pm, culminating in with Santa stepping off of his sleigh and lighting the Community Christmas tree at 6pm sharp.

It is certainly beginning to feel and look a lot like Christmas so get into the spirit and join us as we celebrate the holidays!

Flurry Fest & Holiday Merchant Open House
Saturday, December 1st

The Charlevoix Merchant Open House is the perfect place for inspiration and acquisition of all your holiday needs. On Saturday, December 1st merchants will be armed with samples, refreshments, entertainment, special sales, prize drawings and more at participating stores.

It will be a day filled of activity not only in stores but also in the streets! At 12pm Santa will arrive downtown on a firetruck to spread some holiday cheer.  Santa will be downtown from noon to 1pm.  At 1pm children are invited to watch a free full-length holiday movie (with a donation of a canned good for the Food Pantry) at Charlevoix Cinema compliments of Charlevoix State Bank. While children enjoy the movie, parents are able to shop and sample without interruption! 

From 2:30 to 6pm, downtown Charlevoix will be a flurry of activity thanks to the 6th Annual Flurry Fest! Enjoy live music, cast your vote for Charlevoix’s “Best Hot Chocolate” provided by local restaurants, build a delicious s’more, pet live reindeer, and experience the joy of the season under the tent in East Park.

So make a list, check it twice and head to Flurry Fest and the Charlevoix Merchant Open House!
