Government
In order for businesses to expand, new jobs to be created, and infrastructure to stay sound and supportive, government policies must be in place that will support these goals. Business can thrive best in a government-friendly environment, which recognizes that free enterprise works best when it is relatively free from the overburden of intrusive government regulation. The Chamber has a major responsibility in advocating policies that support business expansion.
To aid in industrial growth, the Charlevoix Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Charlevoix, through an industrial development committee (IDC), have partnered to advocate economic development throughout the area.
The IDC sponsors a number of special events and information programs to promote the retention and expansion of existing manufacturing jobs, and the recruitment of new businesses.
